Commission for Mhisani Fox of his gray fox character. Now updated with loin cloth!

I'm trying a new technique with fur. Thanks to the wonderful Vizon and Metsys for coaching me through it. :) It takes a lot longer... a hell of a lot longer, but with practice, I think I'll be able to do wonders with it. :)

Whoo for loin cloths. :D But wow, yeah that came out great! I was reading along with their advice and some of the in-progress pictures and you really did a great job for a first stab at it. That background is rather mind blowing too btw. :O

Did you end up going with the single thin brush for all of the fur texture or the clump of thin brushes for it? I really should try that again myself but ack, takes so long. ^.^

I used a single thin hard brush. I was painting on a 1440 x 1800 pixel canvas and using a 1 pixel brush. I need to find out what canvas size Vizon was painting on. I'm also going to try to use a single thin soft brush maybe for the outer fur and see how that looks. Good luck! :D It does take a long time, but is fun! :D

1 pixel brush?? Are you insane?? ;) Check out my sketchbook page/journal here too. Vizon and I were discussing that several months back and she gave some additional pointers and techniques there too that might be helpful to you.

lol The 1 pixel brush really doesn't take as long as you'd think. :) Vizon said he used a 2 pixel, but since I imagine he was painting on a bigger canvas than I, I used the 1 pixel. Can you link me to the discussion between you and Vizon? :) Gracias! :D
